Closing Nashville’s Talent Gap
The Green Hills Rotary Club is pleased to welcome Daryl Curry, Director of Education and Workforce Partnerships at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, as our guest speaker at this Friday’s meeting on December 8th at 7:15 am at the Boy Scout Service Center on Hillsboro Road.
Mr. Curry will discuss the pressing issue of Nashville’s talent gap, as employers struggle to find qualified candidates to fill open jobs. He will outline innovative short and long-term solutions the Chamber is supporting through collaborations with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and other workforce partners. Initiatives aim to build a strong talent pipeline by providing students and job seekers with career exposure, planning, training, and access to opportunities.
Previously at the Oasis Center, Mr. Curry managed college access programs to inspire youth career dreams and goals. There he had the opportunity to support young people as they were exposed to various careers, and dreamed of achieving their goals. While not currently working with students directly in his current capacity, he remains passionate about creating meaningful workforce preparation experiences so Nashville students can continue living and working here prosperously.
Visitors are welcome to attend our weekly Friday morning meetings to network, serve the community, and become informed global citizens. Please join us to learn from Mr. Curry’s insights on equipping Nashville’s future workforce.
