Join the Green Hills Rotary Club on Thursday, May 31st at 7:15am for Bobby Whitson’s insightful presentation.

The purpose of this meeting is to network with fellow Rotarians and learn about an important period in Nashville’s past. The Battle of Nashville was a critical event that essentially ended the Civil War in the Western Theater. However, much of the battlefield has been lost to development over time.
Whitson, who sits on the board of the Battle of Nashville Trust, will discuss efforts to preserve remaining sections of the battlefield and educate the public about the events that occurred here. A metal-detecting hobbyist, he has found numerous Civil War artifacts in yards and fields around Middle Tennessee. These relics provide valuable insights into the battle and troop movements in the area.
With a multi-generational family history in Nashville preceding statehood, Whitson has a deep connection to this topic. He will share information about the Battle of Nashville, where it was fought, and how we can get involved in preserving this significant piece of local history before it is lost.
In addition to his historical interests, Whitson is an entrepreneur focused on the sports technology industry. He is a graduate of MBA and Furman University.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a better understanding of Nashville’s Civil War heritage from an engaging local expert. We hope you can join us on May 31st at 7:15am for Whitson’s informative presentation.
