Surviving or Thriving? A Candid Look at Aging with Dr. Michael Kaminski

Speaker Friday, May 30, 2025

Aging has become big business. Every week brings a new promise—reverse your biological clock, unlock the secret to living past 100, or outsmart time itself. From brain-boosting supplements to age-rewinding protocols, the wellness industry has turned longevity into a market of seductive claims. But how much of it is real? What are the practical implications for those of us trying to age well, not perfectly?

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 7:15 a.m., the Green Hills Rotary Club will welcome Dr. Michael Kaminski, M.D., for a thoughtful and timely presentation titled Lessons Learned in Aging. The meeting will take place at the Boy Scout Service Center on Hillsboro Road.

Dr. Kaminski is a neurologist in Nashville, Tennessee, with over 45 years of experience in the medical field. A 1976 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, he is affiliated with TriStar Centennial Medical Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His long-standing career has placed him at the intersection of brain science and human experience, offering a perspective on aging that is both medically informed and deeply reflective.

Rather than offering prescriptions or miracle solutions, Dr. Kaminski will invite attendees to reconsider what it means to age well—beyond the promises of longevity influencers and wellness entrepreneurs. Is it possible to thrive into our 90s or even 100s? Are we destined to spend twenty years surviving without truly living? Or is the truth—quietly and inconveniently—somewhere in between?

Join us for this engaging conversation that will challenge assumptions, offer new perspectives, and prompt important reflection about how we think, plan, and prepare for the later chapters of life.
