Heidi Hayne: Nashville Diaper Connection

Speaker Friday, June 10, 2022

Many Nashville families are struggling to feed and clothe their newborns and their children. Consider these facts:

1 in 3 families in Nashville struggle to afford diapers.

You can buy candy with food stamps, but diapers are classified with cigarettes and alcohol as disallowed purchases.

Diapers: Diapers also vary in cost, but experts advise that you should budget at least $1000 for diapers and $450 for wipes for the first year alone. That’s approximately $120 a month. Parents who choose to use disposable diapers should also expect to go through as many as 3,500 diapers in their child’s first year alone

The Nashville Diaper Connection strives to ensure that every baby in Davidson County has enough diapers to stay clean, dry and healthy.
