Every single one of us can remember a visit to a museum or science center – we might still remember a particular exhibit or something we learned. What you may not know is just how significant a museum’s impact can be on communities. Join me in learning a few facts and figures, listen to a few funny museum stories, and leave with a new appreciation for the folks beyond the curtain at your favorite cultural institution.
Leah M. Melber, Ph.D. has spent the last 33 years working in museums, science centers, zoos, aquariums and the out-of-doors connecting learners of all ages with science discovery and exploration. She earned her doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California and has earned several awards for innovative practice and leadership. Leah will find any excuse to get on a plane and just visited her 61st country earlier this year. She is currently the President and CEO of the Adventure Science Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
