From boots on the ground to code behind the screen, America’s military strength depends not only on those who serve, but on those who support. Few realize that right here in Nashville, software engineers and program managers are developing critical defense solutions that protect lives across the globe. From military-grade software to strategic innovation, the work being done locally has international consequences. With global stability in flux and policy decisions shaping defense priorities, this is a conversation that extends far beyond the battlefield.
Join the Green Hills Rotary Club on July 18, 2025, at 7:15 a.m. at the Boy Scout Service Center on Hillsboro Road for an engaging presentation by Troy Zeidman, Director of Programs at L3Harris | ForceX and Green Hills Rotary Club Member. Mr. Zeidman leads teams responsible for building advanced software in support of U.S. military operations. His perspective bridges frontline experience with cutting-edge technical leadership.
After serving 10 years as an Army Aviator, Mr. Zeidman chose to continue serving the Nation beyond the uniform. Today, he tackles real-world military challenges with software-driven solutions, assists Veterans in their transition to civilian life, and actively contributes to his community through Rotary. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and earned his MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
During this talk, Mr. Zeidman will explore how companies in Middle Tennessee contribute to the Defense Industrial Base and how this vital sector is being shaped by ongoing political and global developments. This presentation will offer an inside look at a field that often operates behind the scenes—but with consequences that ripple around the world.
